Pre-K thru 5th Grade

Following the Lord Our Way (F.L.O.W.)

About
F.L.O.W. is a fun, activity driven encounter with God's word for children age 2 1/2 thru 5th grade.

When?
Children are welcome to "Go with the FLOW" after the children's word in worship and return for communion.

What should I expect?
Kids from preschool to 5th grade focus on a single Bible story each month with interactive lessons that feature activities such as, games, science, music, video and crafts. This hands-on learning helps kids navigate the Bible story as they begin to compare what they learn to their own lives.

F.L.O.W. takes place during the worship service. Kids will ‘FLOW’ to Fellowship Hall immediately after the Children’s Word. There the Preschool, K-3 and 4-5 groups will each meet to open the Bible, activate their faith, wrap up the lesson and end with prayer. Kids return to the service in time to have communion with their families.

What does F.L.O.W. for preschool look like?
F.L.O.W. for preschool is Sunday Circle Time. It is an opportunity for some of our littlest ones, from age 2 1/2 to 5 years old, to explore God's word in a child-centered way. Our child-led approach gives children the opportunity to participate in an activity themed around the story of the day or time to play freely in the space. Each lesson also consists of a short story from the Frolic Preschool Bible and a brief closing prayer before returning to worship.

Q&A
Does my child have to leave after the children's word?
Absolutely not! Your child is welcome to stay for the entire service and is not expected to "go with the F.L.O.W." after the children's word.

At what age is my child welcome to commune?
Children of all ages are welcome to commune at Peace, "for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs" (Luke 18:16).

How do you prepare children to understand communion?
We have an annual communion class for all ages that meets children where they are. Your child's understanding of what happens at the Lord's Table will grow with them and their faith.
