Important notice regarding mail concerns
Hello Members of Peace,
It has been brought to our attention that someone has been targeting church mailboxes in Lake Zurich and surrounding areas. We have reason to believe that Peace Lutheran Church was a target. Members have reported their offerings sent by mail have not been reflected in their giving statements. As a precaution, we are holding all mail at the post office until further notice. We need your help in determining if your offerings have been received. Please confirm that your offering checks are reflected properly on your giving statements. You may also consider reviewing your cancelled checks for endorsement anomalies. It is possible that commitment cards may have been taken and discarded as well. Please reach out to our finance team to confirm that your November and December offerings have been received along with your 2021 commitments. Mark Dice (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Ryan Zicco (email@example.com)
Thank you for your support and all you do for our church.
Jason Fralish – PPC President

Members Team is looking for a volunteer to replace Lin Hodkinson, who is leaving in December. I’m thankful for all her help this past year. This team is responsible for the Prayer Chain, the Caring Tree, the maintenance of church records and the member directory, the tracking of church attendance and time and talent surveys. Anyone interested in helping with this important ministry, please call Jayne Handley
Farewell for Bruce and Lin Hodkinson: We will be having a drive-by farewell send off for Bruce and Lin Hodkinson on Dec. 19 from 2-4pm (See location below). They have recently retired and will be moving to California to start the next chapter of their lives! Both Lin and Bruce have been very active members of Peace for many years and have been involved with youth, mentoring, PPC, worship assistants and more. Bring a card and write in it a memory or even a thought of how they have touched your life. The drive-by farewell will take place in front of Sue and Bill Koenig's home, in Spring Grove. Wear your mask so you can Bruce and Lin off in a safe manner! Please contact Sue Koenig if you have any questions.

Update from St. Francis de Sales Food Pantry: We will continue to collect gift cards for this food pantry through Dec. 13. We are looking for grocery cards from Aldi, Target, Walmart, or Jewel in any amount. Food pantries continue to serve many more families than in the past due to the pandemics economic impact. If you prefer to donate goods, please check the St. Francis website for hours and requested items. Donations to the st. Francis food pantry can be dropped off at their ministry center(the old library), from 8-2pm, Monday to Friday, in the blue bin. Thank you.
Lutheran Social Services Christmas Plans: Members of Peace have been supporting LSSI for many, many years and we will continue to do so again this year by providing gift cards from Target or Walmart for any amount. In years past, we donated gifts to the children in their day care programs or in foster care. This Christmas, LSSI will use the gift cards to help provide a happier Christmas for children enrolled in their programs. The need is great. Thank you for considering this ministry. If you have any questions, please contact Sue Koenig.
Mission Projects Season: We are well underway in completing our usual projects done on Mission Projects Day (first Saturday in February in non-pandemic years!). We still have paracord bracelets that need to be assembled (contact Bill Walstrum if you would like a batch to do at home) and cards for hospitalized children (contact Sue Koenig if you would like the bin delivered to your home). Feel free to make more baby or health kits on your own for Lutheran World Relief if you would like and we will add them to our inventory to be sent off in February. Instructions and kit supply lists can be found on the Lutheran World Relief website under assemble kits. Thank you everyone for your help!
