Prayer Request sheets are located right under the Prayer Request box by the church office door. Let us remember to lift up the needs, concerns, and joys of others in our weekly prayers!
We pray for one another: We pray for those who need healing and wholeness. This week we pray for Mike Wilms and for Carol Sullivan on the death of her brother-in-law, Melissa Michael’s uncle. If you know of someone for whom you would like prayers, make your request known to pastor or complete a prayer request located in the hallway immediately next to the church office door. We care for one another: If you have any special need or know someone who does (e.g. dinner for new moms, meals after hospitalization, short term help like lawn cutting or snow removal) reach out to the Caring Tree by contacting Jean Foltin or Pastor Dale.
This Sunday (March 15) Scripture Reflection: We are focused these weeks of Lent on scriptures that reveal the heart and goodness of God toward all God’s creation, all people and nations. This week, read “Jesus and the woman at the well” narrative in John 4:5-42. Have you ever known real thirst? Not only physical but spiritual longing, reaching out from a dry and empty place? Imagine the new life that is ours when Jesus’ living water fills our hearts and minds afresh! “Jesus, give me this water so I”ll never be thirsty again!”
Next Sunday (March 22) Scripture Reflection: The familiar words of Amazing Grace ring through the reading John 9:1-41. You can hear it in the background as you discover afresh the narrative of Jesus’ healing of a man born blind: “…I once was lost, but now I’m found; was blind but now I see.” Do you know this one who can heal and restore our lives?
Pick up the monthly PRINTS OF PEACE PLUS to stay informed and connected about ongoing opportunities. You will find this green Prints of Peace supplement on the table in the narthex or at www.PeaceLutheranLZ.com.
Secret Sister Luncheon/Reveal: The sign up sheet is on the Social Outreach board. The possible dates are Sunday, 26th OR May 3rd. We would appreciate if you could indicate ALL times that would work for you by placing an “X” in the box. We will schedule the date around when a majority of the participants can attend. Once we determine a date over the next several weeks, we will share more information about the event. It will be scheduled for 2 hours and location is TBD.
Easter Baskets: We are collecting bags of jelly beans and small chocolate bunnies for 40 children being served through Intact South, a program that supports families dealing with mental health or substance abuse issues. A sign up sheet is located in the Narthex. Items can be placed in the bin in the Narthex and need to be at church by April 5th. Thank you so much for you continued support of this yearly outreach project!
Feed My Starving Children Event: Please sign up and join us in packing food at the Feed My Starving Children event on May 9th from 9-11 am at the Libertyville location.
