Dear Friends in Christ
This Sunday: Come celebrate Palm and Passion Sunday. We commemorate Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, and then transition to the true moment: Jesus’ Passion and Death. The word “Passion” here has a double meaning: his suffering because of the trial and the torture of his death, and also his amazing, passionate love for humankind shown in this powerful story. Come and hear the word and receive Jesus in bread and wine! Adult Forum: Please join us this Sunday as we continue a video series on the Lord’s Prayer. Reading for this Sunday: Please read Mark chapters 14-15 plus the sidebar notes for this chapter in your Lutheran Study Bible (LSB.) These chapters narrate the passion and death of Jesus. Mark’s version goes back to the earliest traditions about Jesus’ death and resurrection (compared to Matthew, Luke, and John.) If you don’t yet have a LSB, see Pastor Mark.
