Amen. Joined to Christ in the waters of baptism, we are raised with him to new life. Let us give thanks for the gift of baptism. We give you thanks, O God, for in the beginning you created us in your image and planted us in a well-watered garden. In the desert you promised pools of water for the parched, and you gave us water from the rock. When we did not know the way, you sent the Good Shepherd to lead us to still waters. At the cross, you watered us from Jesus' wounded side, and on this day, you shower us again with the water of life. We praise you for your salvation through water, for the water of baptism, and for all water everywhere. Bathe us in your forgiveness, grace, and love. Satisfy the thirsty, and give us the life only you can give. To you be given honor and praise through Jesus Christ our Lord in the unity of the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen. VIDEO AND SING ALONG: Canticle of Praise Cantor: This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia. Worthy is Christ, the Lamb who was slain, whose blood set us free to be people of God. Sing with all the people of God and join in the hymn of all creation: Blessing and honor and glory and might be to God and the Lamb forever. Amen. Final refrain: This is the feast of victory for our God, for the Lamb who was slain has begun his reign. Alleluia. Alleluia. They walk, O LORD, in the light of your presence. 16They rejoice daily in your name; they are jubilant in your righteousness. 17For you are the glory of their strength, and by your favor our might is exalted. 18Truly, our shield belongs to the LORD; our king to the Holy One of Israel. I rejoiced the day you were baptized to see your life unfold. I was there when you were but a child, with a faith to suit you well; in a blaze of light you wandered off to find where demons dwell. When you heard the wonder of the Word I was there to cheer you on; you were raised to praise the living Lord, to whom you now belong. If you find someone to share your time and you join your hearts as one, I’ll be there to make your verses rhyme from dusk till rising sun. In the middle ages of your life, not too old, no longer young, I’ll be there to guide you through the night, complete what I’ve begun. When the evening gently closes in and you shut your weary eyes, I’ll be there as I have always been, with just one more surprise. I was there to hear your borning cry, I’ll be there when you are old. I rejoiced the day you were baptized to see your life unfold. The presiding minister may address the assembly in these or similar words. P: God, who is rich in mercy and love, gives us a new birth into a living hope through the sacrament of baptism. By water and the Word God delivers us from sin and death and raises us to a new life in Jesus Christ. We are united with all the baptized in the one body of Christ, anointed with the gift of the Holy Spirit, and joined in God’s mission for the life of the world. Sponsors for each candidate, in turn, present the candidates. We present Carter Jean Abbott for baptism. We present Adeline Melaine Abbott for baptism The presiding minister addresses parents: As parents – called by the Holy Spirit, trusting in the grace and love of God – do you desire to have Carter and Adeline baptized into Christ? Response: I do. As you bring Carter and Adeline to receive the gift of baptism, you are entrusted with responsibilities: to live with them among God’s faithful people, bring them to the word of God and the holy supper, teach them the Lord’s Prayer, the Creed, and the Ten Commandments, place in their hands the holy scriptures, and nurture them in faith and prayer, so that your children may learn to trust God, proclaim Christ through word and deed, care for others and the world God made, and work for justice and peace. Scott and Susie, do you promise to help your children grow in the Christian faith and life? Response: I do. The presiding minister addresses sponsors. Shane, Jacklynn, Sabrina and Katherine, do you promise to nurture Carter and Adeline in the Christian faith as you are empowered by God’s Spirit, and to help them live in the covenant of baptism and in communion with the church? Response: I do. The presiding minister addresses the assembly. On behalf of the whole people of God at Peace Lutheran Church, do you promise to support Carter and Adeline and pray for them in their new life in Christ? Response: We do. Profession of Faith The presiding minister addresses the parents and sponsors. The assembly may join in the responses I ask you to profess your faith in Christ Jesus, reject sin, and confess the faith of the church. Do you renounce the devil and all the forces that defy God? Response: I renounce them. Do you renounce the powers of this world that rebel against God? Response: I renounce them. Do you renounce the ways of sin that draw you from God? Response: I renounce them. Do you believe in God the Father? I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. Do you believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God? I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. Do you believe in God the Holy Spirit? I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Thanksgiving The presiding minister leads the thanksgiving. The Lord be with you. And also with you. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. We give you thanks, O God, for in the beginning your Spirit moved over the waters and by your Word you created the world, calling forth life in which you took delight. Through the waters of the flood you delivered Noah and his family, and through the sea you led your people Israel from slavery into freedom. At the river your Son was baptized by John and anointed with the Holy Spirit. By the baptism of Jesus’ death and resurrection you set us free from the power of sin and death and raise us up to live in you. Pour out your Holy Spirit, the power of your living Word, that these who are washed in the waters of baptism may be given new life. To you be given honor and praise through Jesus Christ our Lord, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Baptism Carter Jean Abbot I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Adeline Melaine Abbott I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The minister continues: Let us pray. We give you thanks, O God, that through water and the Holy Spirit you give your daughters and sons new birth, cleanse them from sin, and raise them to eternal life. Laying both hands on the head of each of the newly baptized, the minister prays for each: Sustain Carter Jean with the gift of your Holy Spirit: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord, the spirit of joy in your presence, both now and forever. Amen. Sustain Adeline Melaine with the gift of your Holy Spirit: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord, the spirit of joy in your presence, both now and forever. Amen. The sign of the cross is marked on the forehead of each of the baptized, as the minister says: Carter Jean, child of God, you have been sealed by the Holy Spirit and marked with the cross of Christ forever. Amen. Adeline Melaine, child of God, you have been sealed by the Holy Spirit and marked with the cross of Christ forever. Amen. A lighted candle is given to the sponsor as a representative of the congregation says: Let your light so shine before others that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Welcome A representative of the congregation leads the assembly in the welcome. Let us welcome the newly baptized. We welcome you into the body of Christ and into the mission we share: join us in giving thanks and praise to God and bearing God’s creative and redeeming word to all the world. BLESSING AND DISMISSAL The minister says: Neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. God, the creator, + Jesus, the Christ, and the Holy Spirit, the comforter, bless you and keep you in eternal love. Amen. Go in peace. Christ is with you. Thanks be to God.

This is my Father's world; the birds their carols raise; The morning light, the lily white, declare their maker's praise. This is my father’s world; he shines in all that’s fair. In the rustling grass I hear him pass; he speaks to me everywhere. This is my father’s world; oh, let me not forget that Though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet. Yet you have made them little less than divine; with glory and honor you crown them. You have made them rule over the works of your hands; you have put all things under their feet: all flocks and cattle, even the wild beasts of the field, the birds of the air, the fish of the sea, and whatever passes along the paths of the sea. O LORD our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! VIDEO: Second Reading - 2 Corinthians 13:11-13 VIDEO: Gospel - Matthew 28:16-20 VIDEO: Deacon Tracy Katschke - Sermon: “Sometimes there are no Words” VIDEO & SING ALONG – Hymn of the Day: “God, Whose Almighty Word” God, whose almighty word chaos and darkness heard and took their flight: Hear us, we humble pray, and where the gospel day sheds not its glorious ray, let there be light! Christ, who once came to bring, on your redeeming wing, healing and sight, health to the troubled mind, sight where illusions blind: oh, now to mankind let there be light! Spirit of truth and love, life giving holy dove, speed forth your flight; move on the water's face bearing the lamp of grace, and in earth, far and wide let there be light! Holy and blessed three, glorious Trinity, Wisdom, Love, Might: boundless as ocean's tide, in fullest pride, through the earth, far and wide, let there be light! VIDEO & JOIN IN: THE NICENE CREED We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen. Do this for the remembrance of me. Again after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks and gave it for all to drink, saying: This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me.” O Lord God, bless us your servants and these your own gifts of bread and wine. May we and all who share in the body and blood of Christ be filled with grace, receive forgiveness of sins, and be formed to live as your body in the world. To you, O God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, be all honor and glory, now and forever. Amen. Our Father, who art in heaven…. … forever and ever. Amen. VIDEO AND SING ALONG: Closing Hymn “Come, Join the Dance of Trinity” Come, join the dance of Trinity, before all worlds begun - the interweaving of the three, the Father, Spirit, Son. The universe of space and time did not arise by chance, but as the Three, in love and hope, made room within their dance. Within the dance of Trinity, before all worlds begun, we sing the praises of the Three, the Father, Spirit, Son. Let voices rise and interweave, by love and hope set free, to shape in song this joy, this life: the dance of Trinity. VIDEO: DISMISSAL Go in peace. Christ is with you. Thanks be to God. Alleluia!
