Why your joyous strains prolong? What the gladsome tidings be which inspire your heavenly song? Gloria, in excelsis Deo; Gloria, in excelsis Deo Come to Bethlehem and see him whose birth the angels sing, Come, adore on bended knee, Christ the Lord, the newborn King. Gloria, in excelsis Deo; Gloria, in excelsis Deo Pastor Daniel welcomes the church to worship. GREETING Wreath lighting this morning will be by the Malloy Family LIGHTING OF THE ADVENT WREATH (Blessing for First Candle) Blessed are you, O Lord our God, ruler of the universe. You call all nations to walk in your light and to seek your ways of justice and peace, for the night is past, and the dawn of your coming is near. Bless us as we light the first candle of this wreath. Rouse us from sleep, that we may be ready to greet our Lord when he comes and welcome him into our hearts and homes, for he is our light and our salvation. Blessed be God forever. Amen. Jeff Horvath will lead the assembly in our gathering song. GATHERING SONG “Each Winter As the Year Grows Older” (ELW 252) Each winter as the year grows older, we each grow older too. The chill sets in a little colder; the verities we knew seem shaken and untrue. When race and class cry out for treason, when sirens call for war, they overshout the voice of reason and scream till we ignore all we held dear before. O child of ecstasy and sorrows, O prince of peace and pain, brighten today's world by tomorrow's, renew our lives again; Lord Jesus, come and reign! Our psalm this morning is read by Anne Blaylock Psalm 80:1-7, 17-19 1 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock! You who are enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth 2 before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh. Stir up your might, and come to save us! 3 Restore us, O God; let your face shine, that we may be saved. 4 O Lord God of hosts, how long will you be angry with your people’s prayers? 5 You have fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink in full measure. 6 You make us the scorn[a] of our neighbors; our enemies laugh among themselves. 7 Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved. 17 But let your hand be upon the one at your right hand, the one whom you made strong for yourself. 18 Then we will never turn back from you; give us life, and we will call on your name. 19 Restore us, O Lord God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved. The children’s word is brought by Deacon Tracy Katschke. CHILDREN'S WORD The gospel is read by Pastor Pastor Danie Morris. The holy gospel according to Mark. Glory to you, O Lord. GOSPEL: Mark 13:24-37 24“But in those days, after that suffering, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, 25 and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 26 Then they will see ‘the Son of Man coming in clouds’ with great power and glory. 27 Then he will send out the angels, and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven. 28 “From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near. 29 So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates. 30 Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. 32 “But about that day or hour no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Beware, keep alert for you do not know when the time will come. 34 It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his slaves in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to be on the watch. 35 Therefore, keep awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrow, or at dawn, 36 or else he may find you asleep when he comes suddenly. 37 And what I say to you I say to all: Keep awake.” The gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, O Christ. Bishop Yehiel Curry proclaims God’s Word. SERMON Allison Hearst will now lead the assembly in prayer for the church, the world, and all of creation. PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION God of power and might, tear open the heavens and come quickly to this weary world. Hear our prayers for everyone in need. A brief silence. We pray for the ministry we share in Christ’s name. Open our hearts to your call for justice, peace, and healing. Attune us to the needs of the world as you draw near. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great. We pray for this planet in need of restoration: for devastated habitats, polluted waters, thawing ice, blazing fires, swelling floods, and long-lasting droughts. Renew the face of the earth and our relationship to it. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great. We pray for all people who care for others in our community and around the world. Fill them with compassion and the power to respond with justice for those who are oppressed, with welcome for those who are excluded, and with relief for those who suffer. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great. We pray for people who are in crisis as the seasons change: for those without homes facing severe weather, for those who are unemployed or underemployed, and for those in poverty or facing food insecurity. Relieve their burdens, sustain their bodies, and ease their minds. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great. We pray for the people in our families and congregation who live with depression, anxiety, chronic pain, addiction, and other invisible illnesses (especially for Mike, Sherri, Lizetta, Kim, Kyle, Jan, Rita,Gina, Laurie, Tracy, Wendy, Tamara, Jeff and Chris) . Ease their suffering and support them when they struggle. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great. Draw near to us, O God, and receive our prayers for the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Pastor Daniel leads the assembly in giving thanks for God’s Word. THANKSGIVING FOR THE WORD Let us pray. O God of justice and love, we give thanks to you that you illumine our way through life with the words of your Son. Give us the light we need, awaken us to the needs of others, and at the end bring all the world to your feast; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory forever. Amen. Allison Hearst leads the assembly in the Lord’s Prayer. LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. Receive the blessing. BLESSING The Creator of the stars bless your Advent waiting, the long-expected Savior fill you with love, the unexpected Spirit guide your journey, ☩ now and forever. Amen. Karen Zicco, Terry Koncel and Andy Heroff lead us in our sending song. SENDING SONG Rejoice, Rejoice, Believers Rejoice, rejoice, believers, and let your lights appear; the evening is advancing, and darker night is near. The Bridegroom is arising, and soon he will draw nigh. Up! pray, and watch, and wrestle; at midnight comes the cry. See that your lamps are burning; replenish them with oil; look now for your salvation, the end of sin and toil. The watchers on the mountain proclaim the Bridegroom near, go meet him as he cometh, with alleluias clear. Our hope and expectation, O Jesus, now appear; arise, thou Sun so longed for, o'er this benighted sphere! With hearts and hands uplifted, we plead, O Lord, to see the day of earth's redemption, and ever be with thee! Amen. At this time the assembly is invited to unmute to share the peace. Allison Hearst reads the dismissal. PEACE AND DISMISSAL The peace of Christ be with you always. Let us go forth sharing a greeting of Christ's peace. Introduction and Greeting The Dahlke Family will lead the assembly in our gathering song. Gathering Song “Come, All You People” (ELW 819) Our psalm this morning is read by Deacon Tracy Katschke. Psalm 147 1Hallelujah! How good it is to sing praises to our God! How pleasant it is to honor God with praise! 2The Lord rebuilds Jerusalem, and gathers the exiles of Israel. 3The Lord heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. 4The Lord counts the number of the stars and calls them all by their names. 5Great is our Lord and mighty in power; there is no limit to God's wisdom. 6The Lord lifts up the lowly, but casts the wicked to the ground. 7Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make music upon the harp to our God, 8who covers the heavens with clouds and prepares rain for the earth, making grass to grow upon the mountains. 9God provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they cry. 10God is not impressed by the might of a horse, and has no pleasure in the speed of a runner, 11but finds pleasure in those who fear the Lord, in those who await God's steadfast love. 12Worship the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion, 13who has strengthened the bars of your gates and has blessed your children within you. 14God has established peace on your borders and satisfies you with the finest wheat. 15God sends out a command to the earth, a word that runs very swiftly. 16God gives snow like wool, scattering frost like ashes. 17God scatters hail like bread crumbs. Who can stand against God's cold? 18The Lord sends forth the word and melts them; the wind blows, and the waters flow. 19God declares the word to Jacob, statutes and judgments to Israel. 20The Lord has not done so to any other nation; they do not know God's judgments. Hallelujah! The gospel is read by Pastor Daniel Morriss. The holy gospel according to Matthew. Glory to you, O Lord. Gospel: Matthew 6:25-34 The holy gospel according to Matthew. Glory to you, O Lord. 25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? 28And why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, 29yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. 30But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you — you of little faith? 31Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear?' 32For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34"So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough for today. The gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, O Christ. Pastor Morris proclaims God’s Word Sermon Deacon Tracy Katschke will now lead the assembly in prayer for the church, the world, and all of creation. Prayers of Intercession With the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, let us pray for the church, those in need, and all of God’s creation. God Who Speaks, you declare your word to Jacob and your statutes and judgements to Israel. Proclaim your gospel to the world and equip your church for a life of mission and ministry. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. God Who Provides, you feed the sparrows richly and clothe the lilies of the field in unparalleled splendor. Curb our appetites and turn us in wonder and respect to all that your hands have made. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. God Who Governs, you lift up the lowly and cast the wicked to the ground. Rule the nations from the throne of Christ’s cross that your justice and peace might be made manifest among all peoples. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. God Who Overturns, you lift up the lowly and cast the wicked to the ground. Overturn ways of living and organizing that crush your children for gain. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. God Who Renews, you heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds. Renew this sin weary world and drive out all forces that claim lordship over our lives. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. God Who Cultivates, you prepare rain for the earth and make grass to grow upon the mountains. Lead us to share whatever abundance we enjoy with glad and generous hearts. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. God Who Raises, you call and equip faithful witnesses in every age. Thank you for the generations of saints who sowed the seeds of faith we now harvest and enjoy. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. Into your hands, gracious God, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy; through Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen. Him serve with mirth, his praise forth tell; come ye before Him and rejoice. Oh, enter then His gates with praise; approach with joy His courts unto; Praise, laud, and bless His name always, for it is seemly so to do. For why? the Lord our God is good; his mercy is forever sure; His truth at all times firmly stood, and shall from age to age endure. Our psalm this morning is read by Bruce Hodkinson Psalm: Psalm 95:1-7a We are the people of God’s pasture and the sheep of God’s hand. (Ps. 95:7) 1Come, let us sing to the Lord; let us shout for joy to the rock of our salvation. 2Let us come before God’s presence with thanksgiving and raise a loud shout to the Lord with psalms. 3For you, Lord, are a great God, and a great ruler above all gods. 4In your hand are the caverns of the earth; the heights of the hills are also yours. 5The sea is yours, for you made it, and your hands have molded the dry land. 6Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our maker. 7aFor the Lord is our God, and we are the people of God’s pasture and the sheep of God’s hand. The children’s word is brought by Deacon Tracy Katschke. Children's Word The gospel is read by Pastor Kyle Severson, Assistant to the Bishop. The holy gospel according to Matthew. Glory to you, O Lord. Gospel: Matthew 25:31-46 [Jesus said to the disciples:] 31“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, 33and he will put the sheep at his right hand and the goats at the left. 34Then the king will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; 35for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’ 37Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? 38And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? 39And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?’ 40And the king will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family you did it to me.’ 41Then he will say to those at his left hand, ‘You that are accursed, depart from me into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels; 42for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not give me clothing, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44Then they also will answer, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not take care of you?’ 45Then he will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” The gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, O Christ. Pastor Severson proclaims God’s Word for you in the sermon today. Sermon Installation of Pastor Daniel Morris Presentation Pastor Morris and council president Jason Fralish come before Pastor Severson and the assembly. Pastor Severson addresses the assembly. Having been authorized by the church to install Daniel Morris, our co-worker in the gospel, as Pastor, I now ask for certification of this call. Jason Fralish addresses the presiding minister. After prayerful deliberation, we, of name of Peace Lutheran Church, have called Daniel Morris as Pastor. I present him and this letter certifying the call. The letter certifying that the call has been received and accepted is displayed on the screen. Address and Questions Pastor Severson addresses Pastor Morris. A reading from John: Jesus said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you. Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” (John 20:21-23) A reading from Matthew: Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20) A reading from First Timothy: Set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. Attend to the public reading of scripture, to exhorting, to teaching. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you through prophecy with the laying on of hands by the council of elders. Put these things into practice, devote yourself to them, so that all may see your progress. Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and your hearers. (1 Timothy 4:12-16) Pastor Severson questions Pastor Morris. Daniel, in the presence of this assembly will you commit yourself to this new trust and responsibility, in the confidence that it comes from God through the call of the church? Response: I will, and I ask God to help me. Will you preach and teach in accordance with the holy scriptures and with the confessions of the Lutheran church? Will you carry out this ministry in harmony with the constitutions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America? Response: I will, and I ask God to help me. Will you be diligent in your study of the holy scriptures and in your use of the means of grace? Will you love, serve, and pray for God’s people, nourish them with the word and sacraments, and lead them by your own example in faithful service and holy living? Response: I will, and I ask God to help me. Will you give faithful witness in the world, that God’s love may be known in all that you do? Response: I will, and I ask God to help me. Almighty God, who has given you the will to do these things, graciously give you the strength and compassion to perform them. The presider invites the assembly to unmute. The assembly responds: Amen. Pastor Severson addresses the assembly. People of God, will you receive Daniel as a messenger of Jesus Christ sent to serve all people with the gospel of hope and salvation? Will you regard him as a servant of Christ and a steward of the mysteries of God? We will, and we ask God to help us. Will you pray for him, help and honor him for his work’s sake, and in all things strive to live together in the peace and unity of Christ? We will, and we ask God to help us. The assembly is muted. Pastor Severson addresses Pastor Morris. Daniel, the office of Pastor is now committed to you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The newly installed pastor may kneel as the presiding minister proclaims God’s blessing. Blessing The God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, make you complete in everything good so that you may do God’s will, working in you that which is pleasing in God’s sight; through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. The pastor stands. The following procession to the places of the word and sacraments may be used. Pastor Morris moves to the place of baptism. Bless these gifts of the harvest as they go to Mount Saint Joseph for distribution. May they be a source of your care and nourishment for all who share them. Blessing The blessing of God, Sovereign, + Savior, and Spirit, be with you today and always. Jeff Horvath leads us in our sending song. Sending Song Crown Him with Many Crowns (ELW 855) (vs 1-3) Crown him with many crowns, the Lamb upon his throne; Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own: Awake, my soul, and sing of him who died for thee, And hail him as thy matchless king through all eternity. Crown him the Virgin's Son! The God incarnate born, Whose arm those crimson trophies won which now his brow adorn! Fruit of the mystic rose, yet of that rose the stem, And root, whence mercy ever flows, the Babe of Bethlehem! Crown him the Lord of love! Behold his hands and side, Rich wounds, yet visible above, in beauty glorified. No angel in the sky can fully bear that sight, But downward bends his burning eye at mysteries so bright! At this time the assembly is invited to unmute to share the peace. Dismissal and Peace The peace of Christ be with you always. And also with you. Let us depart sharing a sign of Christ’s peace. All the world is God’s own field, fruit unto His praise to yield; wheat and tares together sown, unto joy or sorrow grown; first the blade, and then the ear, then the full corn shall appear: lord of harvest, grant that we wholesome grain and pure may be. For the Lord our God shall come, and shall take His harvest home; from His field shall in that day all offenses purge away; give His angels charge at last in the fire the tares to cast; but the fruitful ears to store in His garner evermore. VIDEO: Psalm 1-8, 12 (Read along responsively) 1Lord, you have been our refuge from one generation to another. 2Before the mountains were brought forth, or the land and the earth were born, from age to age you are God. 3You turn us back to the dust and say, "Turn back, O children of earth." 4For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it is past and like a watch in the night; 5you sweep them away like a dream, they fade away suddenly like the grass: 6in the morning it is green and flourishes; in the evening it is dried up and withered. 7For we are consumed by your anger; we are afraid because of your wrath. 8Our iniquities you have set before you, and our secret sins in the light of your countenance. that we may apply our hearts to wisdom. 12So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts to wisdom. Children’s Word Gospel: Matthew 25:14-30 [Jesus said to the disciples:] 14"For it is as if a man, going on a journey, summoned his slaves and entrusted his property to them; 15to one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. 16The one who had received the five talents went off at once and traded with them, and made five more talents. 17In the same way, the one who had the two talents made two more talents. 18But the one who had received the one talent went off and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money. 19After a long time the master of those slaves came and settled accounts with them. 20Then the one who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five more talents, saying, 'Master, you handed over to me five talents; see, I have made five more talents.' 21His master said to him, 'Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.' 22And the one with the two talents also came forward, saying, 'Master, you handed over to me two talents; see, I have made two more talents.' 23His master said to him, 'Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.' 24Then the one who had received the one talent also came forward, saying, 'Master, I knew that you were a harsh man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter seed; 25so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.' 26But his master replied, 'You wicked and lazy slave! You knew, did you, that I reap where I did not sow, and gather where I did not scatter? 27Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and on my return I would have received what was my own with interest. 28So take the talent from him, and give it to the one with the ten talents. 29For to all those who have, more will be given, and they will have an abundance; but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away. 30As for this worthless slave, throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'" Sermon Intercessory Prayers Longing for Christ's reign to come among us, we pray for the outpouring of God's power on the church, the world, and all in need. A brief silence. Blessed be the holy Trinity, + one God, in whose image we are made, who claims us and calls us beloved. Amen. Silence is kept for reflection. Holy One, we confess that we are not awake for you. We are not faithful in using your gifts. We forget the least of our siblings. We do not see your beautiful image in one another. We are infected by sin that divides your beloved community. VIDEO & SAY: Prayer of the Day O God of justice and love, you illumine our way through life with the words of your Son. Give us the light we need, and awaken us to the needs of others, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen VIDEO: Children’s Word VIDEO: First Reading: Amos 5:18-24 18Alas for you who desire the day of the LORD! Why do you want the day of the LORD? It is darkness, not light; 19as if someone fled from a lion, and was met by a bear; or went into the house and rested a hand against the wall, and was bitten by a snake. 20Is not the day of the LORD darkness, not light, and gloom with no brightness in it? 21I hate, I despise your festivals, and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies. 22Even though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them; and the offerings of well-being of your fatted animals I will not look upon. 23Take away from me the noise of your songs; I will not listen to the melody of your harps. 24But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. VIDEO AND READ ALONG RESPONSIVELY: Psalm 70 1Be pleased, O God, to deliver me; O LORD, make haste to help me. 2Let those who seek my life be put to shame and confounded; let those who take pleasure in my misfortune draw back and be disgraced. 3Let those who say to me "Aha!" and gloat over me turn back because of their shame. 4Let all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; let those who love your salvation say forever, "Great is the LORD!" 5But as for me, I am poor and needy; come to me quickly, O God. You are my helper and my deliverer; O LORD, do not tarry. VIDEO: Second Reading: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 13We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about those who have died, so that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have died. 15For this we declare to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will by no means precede those who have died. 16For the Lord himself, with a cry of command, with the archangel's call and with the sound of God's trumpet, will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air; and so we will be with the Lord forever. 18Therefore encourage one another with these words. VIDEO: Gospel Acclamation VIDEO: Gospel: Matthew 25:1-13 [Jesus said to the disciples:] 1"Then the kingdom of heaven will be like this. Ten bridesmaids took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. 2Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. 3When the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them; 4but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. 5As the bridegroom was delayed, all of them became drowsy and slept. 6But at midnight there was a shout, 'Look! Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.' 7Then all those bridesmaids got up and trimmed their lamps. 8The foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' 9But the wise replied, 'No! there will not be enough for you and for us; you had better go to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.' 10And while they went to buy it, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went with him into the wedding banquet; and the door was shut. 11Later the other bridesmaids came also, saying, 'Lord, lord, open to us.' 12But he replied, 'Truly I tell you, I do not know you.' 13Keep awake therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour." VIDEO AND SING ALONG: CLOSING HYMN “Come Thou Font of Every Blessing” Come, thou Fount of ev'ry blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace; streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise. While the hope of endless glory fills my heart with joy and love, teach me ever to adore thee; may I still thy goodness prove. Here I raise my Ebenezer: "Hither by thy help I've come"; and I hope, by thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, wand'ring from the fold of God; he, to rescue me from danger, interposed his precious blood. Oh, to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be; let that grace now like a fetter bind my wand'ring heart to thee. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it; prone to leave the God I love. Here's my heart, oh, take and seal it; seal it for thy courts above. VIDEO: DISMISSAL Go in peace. Serve the Lord. Thanks be to God.
