VIDEO AND SING ALONG: Now the Feast and Celebration

Refrain:    Now the feast and celebration, all of creation sings for joy
To the God of life and love and freedome: praise and glory forevermore!

Now is the feast of the Lamb once slain, whose blood has freed and united us to be one great people of God.  Refrain

Power and riches, wisdom and might, all honor and glory to Christ forever. Refrain

For God has come to dwell with us, to make us people of God; to make all things new. Refrain

VIDEO AND SAY (Prayer of the day):

God of mercy, we no longer look for Jesus among the dead, for he is alive and has become the Lord of life. Increase in our minds and hearts the risen life we share with Christ.  Help us to grow as your people toward the fullness of life we are given with you, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.

Video:  First Reading:  Acts 10:34-43

VIDEO AND READ ALONG RESPONSIVELY:   Psalm 118:1-2, 14-24

1Give thanks to the LORD, for the LORD is good;
    God's mercy endures forever.
2Let Israel now declare,
    "God's mercy endures forever."
14The LORD is my strength and my song,
    and has become my salvation.
15Shouts of rejoicing and salvation echo in the tents of the righteous:
    "The right hand of the LORD acts valiantly!
16The right hand of the LORD is exalted!
    The right hand of the LORD acts valiantly!"
17I shall not | die, but live,
    and declare the works of the LORD.
18The LORD indeed punished me sorely,
    but did not hand me over to death.
19Open for me the gates of righteousness;
    I will enter them and give thanks to the LORD.
20"This is the gate of the LORD;
    here the righteous may enter."
21I give thanks to you, for you have answered me
    and you have become my salvation.
22The stone that the builders rejected
    has become the chief cornerstone.
23By the LORD has this been done;
    it is marvelous in our eyes.
24This is the day that the LORD has made;
    let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Second Reading:  Colossians 3:1-4
Easter Gospel: Matthew 28:1-10
1After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. 2And suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. 4For fear of him the guards shook and became like dead men. 5But the angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. 6He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. 7Then go quickly and tell his disciples, 'He has been raised from the dead, and indeed he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him.' This is my message for you." 8So they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9Suddenly Jesus met them and said, "Greetings!" And they came to him, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him. 10Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."

 Sermon:  “Easter and the New, Old Story”

VIDEO & SING ALONG – Hymn of the Day: “Now All the Vault of Heaven Resounds”

Now all the vault of heav’n resounds
In praise of love that still abounds:
“Christ has triumphed! He is living!”
Sing, choirs of angels, loud and clear!
Repeat their song of glory here:
“Christ has triumphed! He is living!”
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Eternal is the gift he brings,
Therefore our heart with rapture sings:
“Christ has triumphed! He is living!”
Now still he comes to give us life
And by his presence stills all strife.
“Christ has triumphed! He is living!”
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Adoring praises now we bring
And with the heav’nly blessed sing:
“Christ has triumphed!  Alleluia!”
Be to the Father, and our Lord,
To Spirit blest, most holy God,
All the glory, never ending!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

VIDEO AND SING ALONG:  “Thine is the Glory”

Thine is the glory, risen, conqu’ring Son;
Endless is the vict’ry thou o’er death hast won!
Angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away,
Kept the folded graveclothes where thy body lay.

Refrain:
Thine is the glory, risen, conqu’ring Son;
Endless is the vict’ry thou o’er death hast won!

Lo, Jesus meets thee, risen from the tomb!
Lovingly he greets thee, scatters fear and gloom;
Let his church with gladness hymns of triumph sing,
For the Lord now liveth; death hath lost its sting!  Refrain

No more we doubt thee, glorious Prince of life;
Life is naught without thee; aid us in our strife;
Make us more than conqu’rors, through thy deathless love;
Bring us safe through Jordan to thy home above.  Refrain

Thank You!
So much gratitude for everyone who has contributed to our worship today and in recent weeks.  The young and old, readers and musicians, and the technical help from a growing circle of Peace people is making this possible.  The gifts given and prayers offered, and help extended enables Peace Lutheran by the power of the Spirit to BE the church – the body of Christ for the sake of the world God loves!  Thank you!

We are reaching out to every PLC household:

Sunday School & Spreading Seeds of Faith
SEED PACKETS are placed in a bin at the Labyrinth for each child in Sunday School.  Pick a number and find the “space” with that number to scatter your seeds in the Easter season.
God planted a seed of faith in our heart,
so all we have to do is water it with prayers,
fertilize it with words of God,
and cultivate it with lots of love.

LET US KNOW...

Every week we are learning more about how to stay connected while physically distant from each other.  Please share any helpful feedback to office@peacelutheranlz.com or pastor@peacelutheranlz.com

Pastor Dale Ziemer: pastor@peacelutheranlz.com
Allison Hearst, Office Admin: office@peacelutheranlz.com
Deacon Tracy Katschke: tracy@peacelutheranlz.com

We are saving lives by offering our worship to God in this format.   The only tool we all have right now to SLOW the spread of the coronavirus is distance – social distance.  For this reason, our church building is closed.  Pastor Dale, Tracy and Allison are all working out of our homes. We are following protocols that follow state and local guidelines.
