Blessed be the holy Trinity, + one God, who forgives all our sin, whose mercy is never ending. Amen. Seeking reconciliation with God and neighbor, let us remember the gift of baptism and confess our sin. Silence is kept for reflection. God of mercy: We confess that we have sinned against you and against one another. We are worried and distracted by many things, and we fail to love you above all else. We think mostly of ourselves, and turn away from our neighbors in need. Forgive us, that we may live in the freedom of your risen Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. When we were laid low by sin and guilt, God made us alive together with Christ, forgiving us + all our failures and shortcomings, by taking our sins to the cross. For freedom Christ has set us free: Rejoice in this good news! Amen. VIDEO AND SING ALONG: Now the Feast and Celebration Refrain: Now the feast and celebration, all of creation sings for joy to the God of life and love and freedom: praise and glory forevermore! Now is the feast of the Lamb once slain, whose blood has freed and united us to be one great people of God. Refrain Power and riches, wisdom and might, all honor and glory to Christ forever. Refrain For God has come to dwell with us, to make us people of God; to make all things new. Refrain VIDEO AND SAY (Prayer of the day): Almighty and ever-living God, you hold together all things in heaven and on earth. In your great mercy receive the prayers of all your children, and give to all the world the Spirit of your truth and peace, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen Video: Children’s Word Video: First Reading: Acts 17:22-31 VIDEO AND READ ALONG RESPONSIVELY: Psalm 66:8-20 8Bless our God, you peoples; let the sound of praise be heard. 9Our God has kept us among the living and has not allowed our feet to slip. 10For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us just as silver is tried. 11You brought us into the net; you laid heavy burdens upon our backs. 12You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us out into a place of refreshment. 13I will enter your house with burnt offerings and will pay you my vows-- 14those that I promised with my lips and spoke with my mouth when I was in trouble. 15I will offer you burnt offerings of fatlings with the smoke of rams; I will give you oxen and goats. 16Come and listen, all you who believe, and I will tell you what God has done for me. 17I called out to God with my mouth, and praised the Lord with my tongue. 18If I had cherished evil in my heart, the Lord would not have heard me; 19but in truth God has heard me and has attended to the sound of my prayer. 20Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer, nor withheld unfailing love from me. Video: Second Reading - I Peter 3:13-22 Video: Gospel - John 14:15-21 Video: Sermon – Rev. John Alan Boryk VIDEO & SING ALONG – Hymn of the Day: “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry ev’ry thing to God in prayer! Oh, what peace we often forfeit; oh, what needless pain we bear – all because we do not carry ev’ry thing to God in prayer! Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged – take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our ev’ry weakness – take it to the Lord in prayer. Are we weak and heavy-laden, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge – take it to the Lord in prayer. Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer. In his arms he’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there. VIDEO & JOIN IN: THE APOSTLES’ CREED I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
