Now is the Time to Worship

Video: Prelude – “You are Mine”

Video: Pastor Dale’s introduction to today’s observance of Holy Communion In-your-home.
JOIN IN: Confession and Forgiveness
You may make the sign of the cross, the sign marked on you at baptism, as we begin.
Blessed be the holy Trinity, + one God, who forgives all our sin, whose mercy is never ending.  Amen.  Seeking reconciliation with God and neighbor, let us remember the gift of baptism and confess our sin.
Silence is kept for reflection.
God of mercy: We confess that we have sinned against you and against one another. We are worried and distracted by many things, and we fail to love you above all else. We think mostly of ourselves, and turn away from our neighbors in need. Forgive us, that we may live in the freedom of your risen Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
When we were laid low by sin and guilt, God made us alive together with Christ, forgiving us + all our failures and shortcomings, by taking our sins to the cross. For freedom Christ has set us free: Rejoice in this good news!  Amen.

VIDEO AND SING ALONG: Now the Feast and Celebration
Refrain: Now the feast and celebration, all of creation sings for joy to the God of life and love and freedom: praise and glory forevermore!
Now is the feast of the Lamb once slain, whose blood has freed and united us to be one great people of God.  Refrain
Power and riches, wisdom and might, all honor and glory to Christ forever. Refrain
For God has come to dwell with us, to make us people of God; to make all things new. Refrain

VIDEO AND SAY (Prayer of the day):
O God our shepherd, you know your sheep by name and lead us to safety through the valleys of death. Guide us by your voice, that we may walk in certainty and security to the joyous feast prepared in your house, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

PSALM 23
1The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not be in want.
2The LORD makes me lie down | in green pastures and leads me beside still waters.
3You restore my soul, O LORD, and guide me along right pathways for your name's sake.
4Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil;
for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil, and my cup is running over.
6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the | LORD forever.

Second Reading - 1 Peter 2:19-25

VIDEO AND SING ALONG ON THE REFRAIN
Refrain: Shepherd me, O God, beyond my wants, beyond my fears, from death into life.
1     God is my shepherd, so nothing shall I want, I rest in the meadows of faithfulness and love, I walk by the quiet waters of peace.  Refrain
2     Gently you raise me and heal my weary soul, you lead me by pathways of righteousness and truth, my spirit shall sing the music of your name.  Refrain
3     Though I should wander the valley of death, I fear no evil, for you are at my side, your rod and your staff, my comfort and my hope.  Refrain
4     You have set me a banquet of love in the face of hatred, crowning me with love beyond my pow’r to hold.  Refrain
5     Surely your kindness and mercy follow me all the days of my life; I will dwell in the house of my God forevermore.  Refrain

VIDEO & SING ALONG – Hymn of the Day: “The Lord’s My Shepherd”
(tune: Amazing Grace)
The Lord’s my shepherd; I’ll not want, He makes me down to lie in pastures green; he leadeth me the quiet waters by.
My soul he doth restore again, and me to walk doth make within the paths of righteousness, e’en for his own name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk in death’s dark vale, yet will I fear no ill; For thou art with me, and they rod and staff me comfort still.
My table thou has richly spread in presence of my foes; My head thou dost with oil anoint, and my cup overflows.
Goodness and mercy all my life shall surely follow me,
And in God’s house forevermore my dwelling-place shall be.

VIDEO & JOIN IN:  THE APOSTLES’ CREED
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.  Amen.

VIDEO AND JOIN IN: HOLY COMMUNION
Peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
Whenever our congregation gathers for the celebration of Holy Communion, we hear the story of God’s mighty acts and the love shown to us in the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Let us raise our hands in prayer and praise: For it is indeed right, our duty and our joy, that we should at all times and in all places give thanks and praise to you, almighty and merciful God, for the glorious resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ, the true Passover Lamb who gave himself to take away our sin; why in dying has destroyed death, and in rising has brought us to eternal life. And so, with Mary Magdalene and Peter and all the witnesses of the resurrection, with earth and sea and all their creatures, and with angels and archangels, cherubim and seraphim, we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. Hosanna in the highest!
Take the bread in your hand and hear these words:
In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave thanks; broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take and eat; this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.
Take the cup in your hand:
Again after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks and gave it for all to drink, saying: This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin.  Do this for the remembrance of me.”
O Lord God, bless us your servants and these your own gifts of bread and wine. May we and all who share in the body and blood of Christ be filled with grace, receive forgiveness of sins, and be formed to live as your body in the world.  To you, O God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, be all honor and glory, now and forever.  Amen.
Our Father, who art in heaven….  … forever and ever. Amen.
Now in our homes we take this bread of life and this cup of blessing that you may be strengthened through participation in the body of Christ.
TAKE THE BREAD….Each one in your household taking a turn tearing off a piece of bread, and serving the person next to them with these words, “the body of Christ, given for you”.
TAKE THE CUP…..After all have received the bread, each one taking a turn serving the one next to them with the cup, saying these words, “the blood of Christ, shed for you”.
IF YOU ARE ALONE:
Take the bread – it is the body of Christ, given for you.
Then take the cup – it is the blood of Christ shed for you.
IF YOU OR ANOTHER IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD ARE NOT TAKING THE BREAD AND CUP, you may make the sign of the cross over yourself, or over the other and say, “the Lord Jesus bless you and love you forever.”
Serve one another now, during the brief musical interlude.

VIDEO AND JOIN IN:  PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION, BLESSING
The body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ strengthen you and keep you in his grace.  Go in peace!  Amen!
Life-giving God, you have fed us with your word, and the eyes of our hearts are opened.  And through this meal you have opened us to your presence!  Send us forth to share the gifts of Easter with all in need; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Blessing:  May the One who brought forth Jesus from the dead raise you to new life, fill you with hope, and turn your mourning into dancing. Almighty God, Father, + Son, and Holy Spirit, bless you now and forever.  Amen.

VIDEO AND SING ALONG:  “Savior, like a Shepherd Lead Us”
Savior like a shepherd lead us; much we need your tender care.  In your pleasant pastures feed us, for our use your fold prepare.  Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, you have bought us; we are yours (repeat).
We are yours; in love befriend us, be the guardian of our way;  Keep your flock, from sin defend us, seek us when we go astray.  Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, hear us children when we pray (repeat).
Early let us seek your favor, early let us do your will;  Blessed Lord and only Savior, with your love our spirits fill.  Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, you have loved us, love us still (repeat).
