Mission Projects Day
This is an annual church-wide service day. This year's event will take place on Feb. 5 and will start at 9:00am. We will be doing a variety of service projects for local, national and international nonprofits. Some organizations that we help are: Journeycare Hospice,
Lutheran World Relief, Global Health Ministries and Operation Gratitude.
Some of things that we do are: tying quilts, making school kits, making health kits, rolling bandages, making paracord bracelets and making cards for people needing a positive message. This service project is appropriate for elementary school children with a parent, all older children and all ages of adults. No special skills are needed. It doesn't cost anything to attend but those participating are asked to bring a new wrapped bar of Ivory Bath soap.
PADS of Lake County-PADS will be beginning their rotating shelters for people who are homeless in October and in support of that, we will be collecting money to support their programs. Just add your change (or dollars) to the jar in the narthex and we will send them a check at the end of September.
There are many ongoing opportunities for outreach at Peace. These projects and events keep us in tune with the community while helping people in need.
See the Prints of Peace blog page to stay up-to-date with upcoming and recent events.
